Urban Food Growing -  How cities feed themselves in the future is an increasingly important question.  How much food can we actually produce in an urban landscape and what difference can that make to our food supply.

 

Planning Advisory Notice 06 - Food Growing & Development

This advice is the result of collaboration between the Brighton and Hove City Council Planning department, Food Matters and Harvest B&H. Brighton & Hove is the first Local Authority in the UK to adopt planning advice to encourage the provision of growing spaces in new developments as part of its commitment to sustainable development.

Harvest Brighton and Hove is a lottery funded project to increase food growing and access to local food within the City.  Food Matters is part of the management team of the project.
