Food impacts almost every area of local government, from public health and economic development to climate resilience and planning. Working with food can be a way for local authorities to take a joined-up approach across departments, leading to outcomes that support healthier communities, environments, and economies. Our training helps local authorities better understand their local food system, and identify practical opportunities for change.

Trusted Partners to Local Authorities

We are trusted partners to local authorities across the UK, having provided strategic support and evaluation for local authorities from Manchester to Bedfordshire. Drawing upon our experience working at a grassroots level with food partnerships, we create place-based tailored recommendations helping you to understand what change around food would be beneficial, and how to instigate it in your area. We base our recommendations and training on evidence-based research from your local area.

A Training Course for Local Authorities

This introductory course is designed for local authority and public health teams. Attend the full course or choose individual sessions on topics including food insecurity, sustainable food systems, and the economy of food.

“Fantastic learning journey that helped develop my skills and knowledge which has in turn helped our newly formed food network create a vision and mission for the future.”
